What is Retriever?

Retriever is an AI voice notes app for iPhone. You speak your thoughts out loud, and Retriever transcribes them, removes the filler, and turns them into clean notes with a title, tags, and a summary. Later, you can ask a question out loud and Retriever answers it using your own past notes.

How is Retriever different from voice memos or a regular notes app?

Voice memos leave you with hours of audio you will never replay, and most notes apps only find a note if you remember the exact words you used. Retriever searches your notes by meaning. Ask "What did I decide about the pricing page?" and it finds the right notes even if you never said the word "pricing," then gives you a direct answer.

How much does Retriever cost?

Retriever Pro costs $9.99 per month or $79.99 per year, and both plans include a 7-day free trial for new subscribers. Billing is handled by Apple through the App Store, and you can cancel anytime from your Apple ID settings. If you cancel at least 24 hours before your free trial ends, you will not be charged.

Are my voice notes private?

Yes. Your audio is used only for transcription and is discarded right after, so Retriever keeps the text, not the recording. Your notes are stored so that only you can access them, and transcription runs through OpenAI's developer API, which does not use your data to train its models. We never sell your data. Can I edit or delete my notes?

Yes. AI transcription is not perfect, so you can edit any note to fix a word or a detail. You can also delete individual notes, or delete your account from inside the app, which permanently removes all of your data within 30 days.
